On Sunday detecting with my three mates on a stubble field between the four of us we dug up six love tokens only one been silver. We have never found so many in one field at one time.Seeing most of them where only copper coins it must be that the young lads where pretty poor or perhaps not too keen at that time.
hello, can you read any date ??? was it the sort of area courting couples of olden days went a mooching ?? oh littleboot its the thought that counts !!!!!!!!, i have found 1 silver found in an area where ladies cut teasle plants for wool making as i found quite a few thimbles,
Hi. Every one had been rubbed smooth as is normal for love tokens. The field is not within a mile of the nearest village,at present I have not researched its past history but we have found a few hammered in the past.
