This regiment was formed purely from Liverpool...and was entirely manned by volunteers.
This regiment was one of the first to be sent over to France and suffered heavy losses in the course of fierce trench warfare.
It was detected with the aid of my very trustee Makro racer (red)...on very black/salty smelly sand at an approximate depth of 5 inches....(on beach mode setting,un tweaked !!
The beach where it was detected is called Penally beach (West of Tenby,West Wales.
The upper beach of the beach and sand dunes were dug out to replicate the conditions of the trenches,this can be identified if you take a walk over the sand dunes. Many thanks for reading..and as always....Good hunting
