Before the rain

Post by Bencal » Sun Nov 25, 2018 1:40 pm

Hi all
Went out this morning for a couple of hours
Dodging the rain showers managed to get a little Roman brooch
Still has a little enamel left
It was a pleasant surprise amongst the mud ::g
This field has given so much this year 130 Roman coins and 20 Roman broochess
Must of been some settlement back then ::g
Thanks for looking

Well done - must be great to find Roman artefacts with some embellishment still intact.

Keep at it as it sounds like a great permission that you have.
Wandering off to the fields with my Makro Racer 2.

Although, I enjoyed the walk with my Bounty Hunter Tracker IV!

Nice brooch and even nicer field, by the sound of it. Always nice to see a bit of enamelling ::g
Essential equipment:
Some sort of electrical gubbins(I'm told it's a Deus). In various colours

A very nice Roman brooch. ::g This excellent guide to roman brooches which was produced by alloverover may be of interest. It's a good guide that's worth a look through the various types illustrated. Regards ss47
