Silver Charles 11 twopence

Post by Bencal » Wed Jan 02, 2019 6:06 pm

Cold start to this morning but that didn't stop me going detecting
Last chance before I go back to work
Really slow start nothing to show for the first couple of hours
The odd copper penny then a crisp two way signal for a small coin it nearly blew my ears off
First Charles 11 twopence I have found ::g
Thanks for looking ::g

Part of a maundy set 1 2 3 and 4 pence .
They can be valued at around £150 to £200 depending on condition, poor portrait or lack of clear date can lessen the value --- very nice find -- congrats.

They certainly appeared in Maundy sets but these were coins which were produced in reasonable numbers to circulate normally. The Spinks price starts at a tenner in fine (which this one isn't) and only a few dates go over £100 in EF. Still a very nice coin to find though. ::g
