find of a lifetime ?

Post by ninja nige » Fri Jan 04, 2019 9:15 pm

Hello.
as some of you may have noticed my girlfriend Mel decided to start detecting a few months ago,
she found the saxon pyramid after 3 months and everyone said wow, find of a lifetime.
Then shortly after she found a saxon ring, wow , find of a lifetime.
The debate we have at home is which one is the find of a lifetime?. you cant have 2 !!!
please vote for your choice pyramid or ring.

Now that's a difficult one for sure, possibly the ring as it's not bent/crushed beyond appreciation. The pyramid is pretty bulletproof , whereas the ring has " survived. 👍. They are both very special items well done that lady

Please don’t do this to us. It’s like rubbing salt into an open wound.
These are things of dreams and most unlikely ever to be found in a lifetime detecting.

On a more serious note. I love ring.

She’s a very very very lucky girl.

Well done and I’m watching with wife open eyes for her hat trick.

It's got to be the ring for me as it's more intricate and has more of a wow factor. ::g

hi Alectus.
no other saxon bits from either site
coins found near ring were 13th c to 16thc.
pyramid site has iron age artifact and medieval bits. no coins older than 13th c.
we dont get many saxon coins around here, we have only had 2 in 10 years.
