Roman brooch & awl

Post by hartsman » Fri Jan 11, 2019 2:47 pm

Found these two artefacts yesterday along with the couple of other items posted earlier. The awl tapers from a rounded profile to a flat chisel shape at the flared end and wondering whether Roman or BA.

First one looks like part of an early Roman Colchester brooch.

The 'awl' also looks a bit like a chunky stylus. :D

You could be right Fred, the pointy bit is a thick for making holes methinks.
