Great Finds with New DEUS Sonar 2 Program

Post by Kritika » Sun May 19, 2019 11:19 pm

I attended a local rally over the weekend. Not much happened on all the Hot (Someone fund a Gold Stater on the last dig) spots.

So in the afternoon I decided to trust my own research on the old maps website, where I discovered there was a house marked on one old 1810 map that has completely disappeared on all modern maps. So off I went to the furthest corner of the furthest field to test out my hunch.

When I got there the site was in a field of freshly cut pasture, which cut like butter and was an absolute pleasure to dig in on such a boiling hot day.

I gave it 10min on my usual DEUS programs with no joy, so I decided to try the new Sonar 2 program. Unbelievable It was like using a completely differently machine, it was finding coins 8' to 10' deep on pasture no problem. 2 hours in the same spot turned up these 11 beauties, including my first 1797 Cartwheel Penny (a real monster of a coin) and a faded but recognisable 1699-1701 William 3rd Half Penny.

So it looks like my research paid off, and it also seems I will be using Sonar 2 on all my pasture digs from now on 98;

Normal I always use a special one recommended to me by a forum member. It’s based on GMP with some modifications to the high tones. But I also swap about between Sonar, Deep and Hot depending on ground and conditions.

But that Sonar 2 of Gary’s smashed it on pasture, give it a go oxgirl.

I’ve heard of the Sonar program but with a reactivity of 4 I haven’t used it simply because of the depth reduction with such a high reactivity. Do you have the settings of the Sonar 2 program - could you post these please?

Many thanks,

There is a good video by Gary from Deus on you tube that walks you through them both with all Expert settings (I thing Sonar 2 is based on the deep platform) but the basics are below.

Sonar
Disk -6.4
Sens 90
Freq 17.2
Iron V 0
React 4
Audio 4
Notch 00-00
3 tones = 202- 6.4, 202 - 6.4, 891 -09 - XY screen

Sonar 2
Disk -6.4
Sens 90
Freq 11.3
Iron V 0
React 2.5
Audio 4
Notch 00-00
3 tones = 202- 6.4, 202 - 6.4, 891 -09 - XY screen

Now that is much better! I struggle to move away from full tones though and have been getting very deep finds on pasture. But I'll put it in and give it a go , thanks for the tip ::g

Thank you for the settings. I’ll put them in my machine tonight - I’m out on Saturday on pasture so will let you know how I get on.

Thanks,

This is the one with Sonar 1’s full settings. But as I have said I much prefer Sonar 2 myself on a deep Pasture as I originally detailed above
