Thank you.. I personally think it is a little early to start the 10th Century Coins, as a gap of 300 - more 400 years as we only have a few 14th century coins - is bit to early..
So two options..
Wait little to post it and finish of the 1800, 1700, 1600, 1500 first..
Or start a new post with the Hammered Coins Only..
Please remember to post the best photo posible, crop tight, both sides of the coin.. Thank you all..

And here's also my 1661:

Solidus, 1661, king John Casmir Vasa. It's funny how old names changed their meaning and value in european numismatics. Denarius was a silver coin in ancient Rome and then the base coin of carolingian monetary reform. 1000 years later denarius was (at least in this part of Europe) among the tiniest silver coins and later was of so low value it was abandoned in favour of bigger coins. Same thing with solidus - in ancient Rome solidus was a very precious, gold coin. 1000 years later it was the smallest of all circulating copper coins...

An 1836 William IV sixpence that I found in January - not the best condition but perhaps it will do until a better example of that date turns up!!

Few coins from my last two weeks:

Copper solidus, minted in Dresden, 1755:

Silver solidus, free city of Riga, 1621 ("Z" and "I" visible next to "S"):

Image

Image

same solidus from Riga, this time 1600:

Silver 3 kreuzer minted by Austrian Empress Maria Theresa in Prague, 1765:

And my most "exotic" find lately, 3 kreuzer of the city of Zug, in... Switzerland, 1604. I wonder how it ended in central Poland, close to Warsaw.
