Thimbles
Hi Everyone
I have just found two thimbles. One is Bronze and it looks quite old, the other is Silver coloured but no Hallmarks.
Both thimbles are squashed! Does anybody know how to straighten them or Am I advised to leave them?
Hope you can help?
Regards
David

Re: Thimbles
Hiya. This reminds me of a thread I read a while ago. I would personally leave them as they are but I'm not the best person with delicate things haha. If you wanted to have a go there are some useful tips in this thread.

Re: Thimbles
I would leave them as is, copper alloy goes brittle and breaks. The other may be aluminium if very light weight. Can you post some pics?

Re: Thimbles
Hi Easylife
I wrongly identified the copper/bronze object as a thimble but on closer examination it is not. If fact I do not know what it is!
The other is a thimble. I think Aluminium.
Sorry I do not know how to load the pictures onto this site.

It's good Dave, but it's not quite 'Carl...'
It needs to be in focus. Cheers ss47

Re: Thimbles
Hi Everyone
I have had our local FLO take a look at the objects. One is definitely an Aluminium thimble. The other the FLO reckons is a bell off some animal.
Many thanks to all for their help and their comments.
