Still plenty more hoards out there....might just start digging those 'deep iron forget about it' signals. I'd imagine they will all be deep iron though >.<.

Congratulations to the finders though ..!

Wow
The Holy Grail of hoards!
Oh wait that would be the Holy Grail. With apologies to Mr Crook.

Brilliant find, and so glad to see the expert manner with which it was dealt.
Now I know why I dig all that Iron.

I don't know if he was at work but he certainly hasn't hung his detector up!!!! Met him on a dig Saturday! Heard how it was a bit of a fluke that he went to the WW dig! He eventualy went on the off chance of seeing someone to show a find to - he didn't attend and the hoard finder forgot to take the find anyway. Some things are just meant to be.

Without wanting to sound crass, who gets the bounty as and when it appears? Does the finder share with the land owner? Or being an organized dig, is there some other method of splitting the booty?

Reported on Radio 4 news this morning (06:30)

Quite a good report, although I did cringe a bit at the description of 'amateur treasure hunter' 8-|

Being reported as worth at least a million quid, but then arn't they all =))
