English Finds Location Website?

Post by Pete E » Tue Jun 11, 2019 3:31 pm

I live on the North Wales/England border and often use the Archwilio (https://www.archwilio.org.uk/) web site to explore what finds have been found in different areas on the Welsh side of the border.

Does anybody know of a similar website that covers Find locations in England?

Thanks in advance,

Peter

This one is by subscription only (password required and heavy usage is monitored to prevent password abuse) http://www.archiuk.com/ It shows find sites on a satellite image map. You can also view an old OS map (circa 1888-1913) and a newer OS map of the area.

This one is useful and free, https://www.heritagegateway.org.uk/gateway/

I use both to check upcoming dig locations as the two sites frequently do not show the same information.
