Lost wedding ring in Scottish Borders ( Kelso ).

Post by chrisrelva1961 » Mon May 14, 2018 8:33 am

Hi,
new member looking for advice hope someone can help.

Lost my wifes wedding ring in the rough grass adjacent to the lawn a few days ago. Despite being pretty sure I'd find it just by careful loking I can't.

Can someone recommend a model of detector I should source that works for this kind of search or someone who could help. I can hire one for about £60 but want to be sure its up to the job.

Many thanks.
Chris.

Hello 'chrisrelva1961', Welcome aboard the forum ::g I would suggest you search for the nearest Club to your location and establish contact as the majority of clubs offer a search service within their area. Personally, I wouldn't recommend hiring a detector unless you're familiar with their use as it could prove both a confusing and frustrating experience without some form of guidance..

Enjoy your time with us on the forum and I wish you every success ::g - Regards ss47

Success indeed !

James ( you couldn't wish to meet a nicer bloke ) drove down this evening with a Garrett 400 and a short stick like thing that had a light on it and 'beeped'.
Turns out I'd been to his garage for some graphics about a year ago...I digress.

Anyway he got straight on with searching. I was surprised how quickly he went swishing left and right but he assured me the detector would find it.

First he found a penny my wife had lobbed trying to repeat the distance the ring might have flown, then something else set it off but was too far down to be the ring and after about 1/2 an hour and I had just about given up all hope he stopped and did that closer search with the Garrett detector when it signals something, bent down and holding up a small yellow circle said "One Gold Ring."

Emotional moment ( for me ).

Also for my wonderful and long suffering wife to whom I sent the following...

ahaaaa....file too large ?
how do I attach the pictures of 'success' ?
