Part of the thread seems to be missing? I was rather looking forward to hearing how this story turned out (Not much happens in my corner of Staffs, lol) Any chance of some more detail, story being posted up here? It is obviously a happy ending.

Littleboot.
We met up and his wife had come along too. We went to the spot where the ring was lost.
I covered the main area where it was thought the ring was lost, but to no avail. Surprisingly I found 9 modern coins that were all on the surface. Each one of them I thought this is the ring.
2 hours later, and they thought that an area slightly to the left may be worth trying (I think they had both given up hope by then).
I started out detecting this new area, and caught a glimpse of something shiny to my left. There it was sat on top of the grass. I didn't find it with the detector.
They both had their backs to me texting, I walked across and put the ring in her hand.
The look on their faces was priceless. A kind of disbelief mixed with astonishment and relief.
To say they were pleased is an understatement.
I was really happy to have got it back for them. Only married for 4 months.
Success.

Jim, it does not mater that the detector did not find it, the fact is that if it was not for your volunteering to search it may never have been found.

Well done ::g ::g ::g ::g ::g
