Spent 1.5hrs searching borders.lawn etc no sign.
Should have been a surface find.
Retracing Steve`s mums steps, no good.
Disappointed not to recover the ring.
Hopefully turn up soon.
Dave.

If she’s anything like me she’s put it where the house key should be and put the key in the drawer :-O or the fridge! That’s where I found my phone a couple of weeks ago.

I s’pose they’ve considered that ? ! Worth a mention if you speak to them again.

Well done on making the effort Dave. Top Bloke.
Does she have a compost heap? I found one of mums years ago where she'd put her potato peelings and it had slipped off her cold hands.
Ultimately searches are very dependent on the information given by the person who lost the item. She may need to simply try and do some hard thinking and retrace her movements without jumping to conclusions.

My mate and I detected the garden of the Bishop of Kings Lynn a while back, he had lost his large ceremonial gold/jewelled ring in the garden. After about two hours as we were losing hope, it emerged in the turf edging. You could not imagine a more happy Bishop ::g
Well done Dave for your efforts, the lady may not have a clear memory of her walkabout in the garden, Liam ::g

A spirited effort Dave ::g In my experience, losses are seldom where the loser believes it was actually lost but that doesn't make it any less disappointing for you both :( All the best -ss47

Found my mates mother's ring which was in-between paving slabs, ie lying vertically... just a thought , the lovely lady was ecstatic x;

Good for you Dave for giving it a go - hopefully the ring is safe and sound somewhere and it will show up one day.

Keep us posted if you hear back from Steve.
