Isle of Wight - Help!!

Post by paint » Sun Feb 10, 2019 7:24 pm

To all those friendly chaps out there on the Isle of Wight, my dearest wife has booked me onto a family holiday and I am going willingly (honest)... She has given me permission to go off for a day or two to explore the lands of the isle and take my trusty detector with me. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to share a permission - I will be happy to share my permissions in Gloucestershire for anyone willing to help please private message me.

Cheers Paint

After setting up the Newbies Day event for May and all the hard work that went with it, you deserve a run out when on the IOW on holiday ::g
These type of requests are generally reciprocal and paint has some excellent historic permissions as I can personally confirm!

I hope some good IOW members come up trumps, Liam OooO

Anyone on IOW?

Post by paint » Tue Feb 12, 2019 12:58 pm

Is there any detectorist on the Isle of Wight? Or are they a rare breed? No luck yet, looks like I will have try the beaches or go door knocking and hope to get lucky!
I did email the local club but not even a response. I am always happy to share my farms with anyone who needs help getting started, very happy to do so again for anyone who can provide a bit of land next week.

Cheers paint

There is at least one club on IOW as I followed a dig they did at Chale a couple of years ago. ;)

Well done mate, I tried in vain to join a Club over there as my parents lived in Ryde and I hoped I might get a chance to detect when I visited. Still go over there at Christmas. Good luck in your hunts. ::g
