Tips for the Deus after rain please (+ 3 coins!)
Afternoon all,
Just taken the deus out for its first really wet session and got to thinking about “after care” since it’s never occurred to me before in this desert climate!
Any tips for looking after your deus after a good soaking much appreciated.
Plus, trying for roman and medieval coins and this is all I got though really can’t complain; a really pleasing threesome - George III twopence ( the third I’ve found in a month) George I farthing and 1938 Victorian shilling.
All the B

I would be more than happy finding those three!
Mine just goes in the boot of the car but then I have never been one to keep it in mint condition. You can clean it off by wiping on grass to get most of the mud off I guess. I do have neoprene barrel protectors on my shafts just to keep most of the mud off but I don't do anything more. Normally change the clear plastic bag taped over the controller when it gets too dirty.

Just take the rain cover off the controller if you have one. And leave the headphones out to dry. So you don’t get condensation in/ on either if them. Wash the coil cover every now and again. Otherwise you don’t really need to do anything unless you want to wipe them down.
Nice coins btw

All I do is wipe off the excess water and leave it to dry off. As said above, the headphones and control box are air dried but nothing more than that.

Just a wipe down and dry off is enough. If there's mud around the coil, take off the cover and make sure there's no crud trapped between the coil and its cover - even the smallest grain of metallic stuff there can throw out your signals.

No idea about the Deus Alexander, but I really like that little selection of coins!

Keep your remote dry, it some conditions it can sweat in some of the covers so remove them when it's not raining. Condensation can be damaging so agree with previous comments on that.
Coils - Light dirt can be wiped of quickly with wet wipes then dried with kitchen towel. If it's proper muddy take the cover off and put them both in a bowl of warm water, quick and easy.

The farthing and half penny of George I of that era are called Dump coins, Dump is a nickname given to small thick crudely struck coins.
