Help me choose - Job Done ✅

Post by Kritika » Thu Mar 14, 2019 8:00 pm

Going to get a all singing all dancing DEUS this Saturday remote and all, but I still cant decide which coil to go for so come-on guys Please Help Me Choose

Choices are 9' HF round white Coil, or the new X35 in 11'

Will be used on land only, South of England, mix of ploughed and pasture. Looking for hammered, Roman and Celtic.

I will let the forum decide...... we have until tomorrow night, which ever coil gets the most recommendations that's the one I will get 98;

Well I had the 11inch on mine, when I had it. It was a nice size for coverage but still lite to swing. I found my first (and only, so far) gold coin with it but can’t speak to any other attributes. Memory not what was ::g

The 9inch is OK for tighter detecting, like woodland but not for open field work.

Hi Wilci
I see you have the 9’ X35 but you still prefer to use the 9’ HF is that right?

"""X35 in 11" """ gives u a bit more freq scope I believe and a tad more coverage ..but remember it's got to b there in the first place at a detectable depth and u have to walk over it .... ive got the 9" normal , elip hf and 13

When I used the Deus ,personally I found the 9" coil (Pre HF) was much sharper & crisper on response sound when detecting thin hammered silver coins over the 11" coil.

I just stick to my standard 9". Gold, hammered, Roman. They have all succumbed on pasture and arable. Plus it is one of the lightest coils available (eliptical is lighter) so it is easier on the shoulders if you are an old fart like me.

I can't help it but this bit made me grin....
Looking for hammered, Roman and Celtic.
:D
Lovely, it doesn't matter what we swing or what gubbins we put on the business end...we always want our beep to go off for those.

I have heard of lots of all-singing all-dancing detectors in my time doing this gig....but any success has been dependent on the fat lady doing the swinging to make it work.

In mineralised contaminated soil ( I search mainly river foreshores) I prefer the HF. The x35 for inland back-up / all-purpose. The 11" for crop fields.

If you don’t mind me asking are you running your 9’ HF on version 5.2?

So if I’m getting this correct, the 9’ HF coil running in 5.2 is so far the preferred forum choice over the 11’ X35 when bought with new machine?

Re: Help me choose - Job done ✅

Well the deal was done, I picked up my new Deus with 11’ X35 coil on Saturday and spent a fantastic day yesterday trampsing about in a muddy field in the sun putting it through it’s paces.

Verdict, how on earth did I live without it 98; it’s fantastic.

Thanks for your help everyone, Job Done ✅
