Bingo! Snug fit, need to fit your ears inside the cup for best comfort, had them on for 6 hours, almost same tone as xp just tweaked top frequency couple of notches (been a week since I used Ws4) and excellent sound insulation. Now able to detect close to A road and hear the signals. Buying a second set just in case they become discontinued.Jungle wrote:Field testing these tomorrow as alternatives to WS5's. http://www.howardleight.com/ear-muffs/sync" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Deciding what version to buy. Do the WS4 back phones fit OK with glasses worn?

I have no probs with using sunglasses with them. Its been very hot recently and when most full cup headphones would be uncomfortably hot, these have been superb, Liam

Re: XP Deus - Headphones
Could anyone tell me whether it's possible to have a second set of wireless headphones with a Deus? I don't have that model of detector at present, but I would like one of the kids to tag along and enjoy the experience on occasion.

With a 90 degree angled jack you can plug in a second set of headphones to the controle unit. I can´t tell you if both the WS4 and the extras will sound simultaneously.stringerbell wrote:Could anyone tell me whether it's possible to have a second set of wireless headphones with a Deus? Re: XP Deus - Headphones
Actually It came to mind.. Could a XP deus be parred to sound of in two sets fo headphones.. ???stringerbell wrote:Cheers for that, much appreciated.
Running two WS4 on one controle unit.
Maybe some from the "XP knowlegde team" or "regtons" could tell if possible.. The price difference between the Detectnik and WS4 would be around 190 £ more for the WS4..
Re: XP Deus - Headphones
Yes they can. I use this configuration when out my son, helps him feel involved, I hope.Danzigman wrote:Actually It came to mind.. Could a XP deus be parred to sound of in two sets fo headphones.. ???stringerbell wrote:Cheers for that, much appreciated.

Re: XP Deus - Headphones
Came across this video. It's a test of sound and comfort in the studio but will be very useful for anyone considering what headphones to get when first buying the Deus or as a replacement/ extra set later.
As well as the WS4 and 5s it includes deteknix, ghost, gray, central sound, Vance headphones and Apple and Samsung buds. It's an April 2017 report.
Hope it's useful...

Headphones turning off in mid swing.
Hi all,
Hope this is in the right place and please don't be offended if it isn't.
I have some ws5's with a deus I bought new around 5 weeks ago and the phones have turned themselves off twice now for no apparent reason.
The first time my mate who I was out with said I may have caught the button which I'm sure I didn't and then it happened again on the next outing.
The phones make an unusual short bleep or two then they go off.
The second time it happened I noticed they had been on for just over five hours but thought no more of it.
I just have to take em off and press the on button again and they're fine.
Just wondering if anyone else has come across this happening to their phones at all.
They are fully charged before I take them out and there shouldn't be any reason to switch off..or have I missed something in the manual.
Cheers for any replies

It's automatically switched off after 5 hours if you don't push a button in that time.

Re: DEUS - headphones
You can buy "third party" headphones for the WS4. e.g. the one from Deteknix :-)Danzigman wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2011 11:19 pmSorry Guys.. Not know here in DK.. Guess some one DIY will upload a youtube how to.. Im not so hooked on experimenting myself.. - AND in the summer on the beach the one I have is great. Maybe we should suggest XP DEUS to make a second base for the controle to buy as extras... so switch between summer and winter "ears"
Liam.. conventional full headphones.. is that a rebuild/converted or do you refer to a wire earcup

Re: XP Deus - Headphones
Hello Everyone,
I recently discovered a break in the wire of the cable used to connect the right side to the left side of my WS5 headphones.
Does anyone know what they call this 2 cored black cable, I have managed to re-join it together, but I would like to renew the whole length, in case it developed another break.
Thanks in advance, Topsy

Re: XP Deus - Headphones
A deft bit of soldering (with a suitable sized protective sleeve slid over the severed wire first) should produce a long lasting repair. Not sure about the cost of an original replacement part but think £££s versus 30 mins of your time.
If you don't have the kit, any phone shop should be able to sort it for a small consideration. By the way, Lidl stores are offering a 'soldering station' for a mere £7.00 or so! Good Luck - Regards ss47

Does anyone know if you could in threary use a set of "Bose Noise Cancelation" headphones plugged into a Daus remote, I.e what would happen if the Noise Cancelation was turned on, would it mask any tones ?
