SPECTRUM XLT

Post by donnylad1 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 8:15 pm

Hi, just wondered if anyone has used the spectrum xlt older rainbow version and if so how did it perform and what would be a reasonable second hand price to pay? Cheers Alan

I had one about twelve years ago and it was OK on land, but rubbish on a wet beach, which was why I swapped it for a Minelab. Inland you would be OK

They are quite an old machine now, i got one , at what i thought was a bargain price about 4 years ago, it was,nt long before it started playing up, i sent it ti whites ( scotland ) for a check over. it was going to cost £200 to rectify all the faults, that aside they were a good machine in their day, but i think you must take age into consideration. BAZ...... p.s i scrapped mine off.

XLT has been my main machine for over 12 years would not do without it.
Regards the bleeping try taking the battery pod out whilst the machine is still switched on, wait 1 min then place back in again and reprogram should work after that

I had a new XLT as my second detector when I needed an upgrade, didn't like it at all, so many settings that need to be right or you may as well turn it upside down. I'm sure those who have used them for a long time swear by them but I hated it. Get yourself a minelab EX2 or XP.
