White's Maxima 1500 coil

Post by Tyto » Fri Oct 12, 2018 10:18 pm

I've been browsing this forum for a long time and found tons of interesting informations here. Lately I found myself in a situation where I decided to sell my big Maxima 1500 coil that I used to use with my XLT detector. And... I am confused. So, quick registration and here I am. Hello to everyone on this forum from Tyto!
I am confused because XLT is getting less and less popular, I think this coil was never a fancy stuff to have... and I have no idea what should I value this coil. I don't need this coil anymore but I believe someone may still find it useful
Any advice will be highly appreciated
Thanks
Tyto

Really cant tell u what its worth now :-/
Maybe u could put it on a popular selling site, open bids on it, and see what u can get :-/
Sorry cant be any more help, u could aways try placing a post on whites users forum on MDF , and u may get some better ideals,,,

Hi Tyto and welcome to the forum.
XLT was and still is a good machine, unfortunately times change, designs move on.
Your big coil is very unwealding and heavy, especially compared to the stock coil, not sure what you would except to get for it.
Still got my XLT it's 20 years old, the only detector I've kept, I found going smaller was better. Found the 6" produced good results, really unmasked the good targets.

Thanks guys. I love my XLT so much that I think I'll never get rid of it.
Diggerdave1, I think you're right, this coil is probably worth just as much as someone is ready to pay.
Thank you 👍👍👍

Thanks Koala. US is a little bit different market than European one, but that value is a good point of reference.
I'll think over my decision again.
Thank you

Hi,I bought one recently from Deteknicks, paid £109 which included postage, hope this helps. You dont see any 2nd hand ones so you should get a good price.I got mine for my Whites IDX and am well impressed at how it still picks up small items and coins.
