Whites repair ?
I used to own a 5000D, so I still follow the White's Brand...I have read that Garrett took over the service of White's Machines...You might want to contact a Garrett Dealer in the UK as a start towards getting service on your machine...Steve
Centreville Electronics may be you only solution...I just googled them and they have a website with service instructions...

I can repair the PI detector
As long as its through plated like this and not surface mount with trimmed or bespoke components
As far as I know they all like the photo above

Although older the 5000D is a far more complex circuitry with far more components
With a more complex coil
It would be more hit or miss if I could repair easily,
Might help if I knew what the symptoms were

I'd have a look at it, too. I've never had my hands on one before, but I think there's enough service info out there.

Thanks for your replies.
Simply the pi got wet inside. A bad seal. I've dried it out as best I can .left the control box open
By a radiator for a couple of days. I'm no electrician but I did test with a volt meter. With the meter on the battery terminals, switched on I get a reading. Switch off the detector I don't. That's about it. No sound through the headphones.
I just need to find a competent repairer.

Nice machine when set up properly
Very much depends what's wrong with it
Not your PCB but from a similar whites from a similar era
Here everything except two components on the right would be repairable
And anything to do with the various voltages used would be fairly straightforward
Somethings would be very difficult, without a working machine to compare oscilloscope wave forms against

Wet with salt water or rain water?
Saltwater damage can be terminal, or very troublesome to sort out.

Simple two layer PCB I suspect
Even corroded it should be repairable
The designer has posted the original circuit online
Postage to me and back is the kill
As far as I know
The surf PI, pro and dual field are all basically the same
Any general electronics expert should be able to fix for you, unfortunately the days of TV repair men/persons in every town are long gone
If you can't find anyone locally, by all means post it to me and I will fix it for you
The TDI is completely different beast

It just decided to no longer turn on.
Cleaned all the terminal points, and tried 3 different battery packs, but no luck.
Few years ago now, & I replaced it with a Equinox 800 which I'm more than happy with, so I'm not desperate to repair it.
It'd just be good to have a backup though, as I've had a couple of occasions when a friend has joined me & it'd have been nice for them to have a machine, rather than just stand watching me.
