OK, some idiot questions for you XP owners

Post by beaubrummell » Fri Feb 07, 2014 1:31 pm

Hi

The coil cable on the ADX 250 is about a mile long and I believe this is in case you want to hip mount the control box. I can't see myself doing that so is there any advice re where the bulk of the cable should be wound? I imagine that I should keep it straight with a little room for manoeuvre at the lower stem end and then wrap the bulk around the upper stem.

Also, am I right in assuming that the Disc 1 and Disc 2 settings you use remain in place when you turn the unit off?

This may be blindingly obvious to most but I guess I'm just not bright !!!

Cheers

hey BB , you may not think you will need the extra cable ,but hip mounted is the only way to go when using duel discrim ....ie. searching in d1 and checking the signal in d2 . believe me takes a bit of patience but i double my finds rate in this mode .... ok .....if you want it stem mounted i usualy wind most around stem tapeing it in place as i go . leave enough from the top of stem to box in mounted position and tape that to .
yes they may look on the adventis as a poormans gmax or deus [mind you i am poor :D :)) ] but ive found more with that than i did with my multifreq machine [no names mentioned in case of offending multi freq die hards] . look foward to your weekends finds ,good luck, heres just three of my finds when i popped out for two short sessions during this week :D

Cheers Lord. I reckon I'll buy one of those brackets that enable you to mount the control box on the front of the stem...............having said that I do have the control box case with the belt loop so I'll give it a go.

Great finds mate.

the advantage of hip mounting BB is that you can have yout finger on the switch all the time for rapid signal checking between d1 and d2 i have a rope sling and carry my shovel on my shoulder ,bit like you would a rifle to keep the left hand free for switching ::g ::g

Sounds like you've got is all sussed out mate. I've been pretty shocked by the air test results of this machine. Good job I've got a sturdy spade and a spare).
