Had a really great day..although I mostly dug nails/any old iron as I have yet to learn the tones although it got better as the day went on. I did find one coin though, even if it was only a 1750 penny ( I think) and what appears to be the flight of a British 2 inch mortar bomb and a load of lead!
Thanks to Nofolk Craig who came out with me and gave me pointers, and I think he was pleased with me clearing the iron out of his way

I have a Goldmaxx V3, and like you used to dig a load of iron, especially big iron, until I started to learn the tones. I reckon within 6 months, you will be taking home, 25% of the weight that you did the first time lol.
What a great hobby though.
