Just joined 'The Club'.

Post by Helmetfire » Wed Nov 05, 2014 9:31 pm

Good evening all.

Just got myself a used GMP V4 from a certain on-line auction site, for £265 (being sold as chap is getting back into fishing). Now the learning, and fun starts... :D

If in doubt, BANG OUT.

Good choice for a detector, at first you will dig a lot of signals, but you will soon work out the good signals from the bad.

Hi helmet, you beat me on bidding for that detector, on the upside
I won the bid on a minter with ws2 headphones covers and DVD for
£420 last night, so I'm back to school too. I'm hoping it won't be as steep
A learning curve as I had a Deus a while back.

Hi Howard, no I don't have the Deus now, I found having all those
Programmes and options at your fingertips too much of a distraction.
I felt I was wasting too much time tweeking and adjusting always thinking
There must be a better setting in here somewhere. So its back to basics
And concentrating on just the one detector at my disposal.
Cheers.

That is precisely why I did not get one with all the 'Whistles and Bells' on, as I knew I would spend too much time chasing the settings.
If in doubt, BANG OUT.

Don't get me wrong the Deus is a superb machine, especially that it
Has the digital reading. If they would make a GMP with a digital readout
Too it would be perfect. You just have to be more restrained not to fiddle
With it too much which I just can't seem to do.

I had some great years with my old GMP, rock solid machine, sold it when I got the Deus, then bought another one a while back that is wireless, have yet to try it out properly, good as a back up machine and the Deus GMP prog is not quite as effective as the original GMP itself!
Lots of vids on the GMP and the Norfolk Wolf TH Test on the machine is invaluable

This is also a nice taster ... " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Good luck, Liam ::g
