Gmp help

Post by shotwell » Sat Mar 14, 2015 3:38 pm

Hi on cleaning my detector ,I disconnected the lead from main box and discovered instead of six
Little brass pins it had 4 and 2wires which when connected the lead back I had to line the wires with two of the holes when I had done so the detector still worked fine.
My detector has a coke switch conversion is this the reason why there is two wires and not 6 prongs.
Hope this makes sense :-/ :-/

Sounds like the pins are stuck in the control box and not attached to the wires any more. If that's the case your gonna need a new plug at best or a new coil and have the old pins removed from the control box

Looks like the female pins have seized onto the male pins and pulled out of the plug

It looks like Tomo has got it in one shotwell. Unless you're a 'dab hand' with a soldering iron I'd send the coil with defective plug to a repair shop - Pentechnic would be an obvious choice. ::g Cheers ss47.

This post is a heads-up to all of us to use a quick spray of 'Switch Cleaner' to ensure good contact of switches and Coil Plug connection pins. I also giver a small squirt onto the threads of the coil connector at the control box - it ensures a good tight fit without having to resort to force or
(as I've heard happens sometimes) using pliers.......definitely not a good way to tighten the fitting!! Hope you get it sorted shotwell - Good Luck mate ::g ::g
