Going Cordless

Post by Bargeman » Mon Feb 06, 2017 4:07 pm

Are WS2 headphones suitable for the GMP, and does it involve any modification to the GMP? or are they plug and play.

So far I know all GMP machines V4 chipped do have the wireless transmitter built in and yes the WS 2 headphones are well suited for the GMP you do have the option to shoose between two frequenties.
I did have the same combination. :-)

Almost certain if i recall correctly that when you use the wireless facility on XP machines you have too use the 'blanket plug' that you push into the wired headphones socket this stops the audio from coming out of the speaker at the same time as the wireless headphones.

Not sure if the plug comes with the headphones but they are only about a couple of pounds anyway, its a possibility that they do come with the headphones.

yes good point... if you don't get one with the ws2s you can always use the jack plug cut off an old pair of headphones, or even a reducing adaptor thingymebob

Ok I am confused.... to be fair it doesn't take much to confuse me, and a coupe of glasses of merlot may not have helped either. In the manual (yes I have read it, both pages) it states that to charge, connect charger to the DC plug.
An LED is lit whilst charging (yep, I get an orange LED)
Once full charge, LED will go out, (my LED has been on for three hours)
If the battery is already fully charged, the Green LED will remain off (Green?) my LED is orange?

When it is fully charged, the LED will just go out.....mine was also orange and not green.

Definitely not one of those blanking plugs in the box, I shall order one from Regtons. And as I type this, I have just put the things back on the charger, we shall see how long it takes for the LED to go out?

It could also take a few full charges to get the maximum run time from the headphones as well, must admit you would have thought that after spending out a fair chunk of 'Wonga' on a set of Cordless headphones they would have throw in a £2 blanking plug for free.

Just one possible suggestion could the blanking plug have been supplied with the detector when new in the box ??

An update, all good news...

After being on charge yesterday for hours and the LED not going out, today it has gone out in 20 mins, so all working as it should.

And after looking in the detector box and finding nothing but a spare end plug for the shaft, I once again (third time) looked in the small headphone box, and there was the headphone plug! not loose in the box, not in one of the two sealed bags, but actually inserted through the black card of the box lining and I never saw it.

Old and stupid, that's me.
Thanks everyone.

So it appears to be 'operator error' rather than the actual product =)) glad its all sorted out ::g

I now have two sets of wireless headphones, both are fantastic for increasing the sound you hear while cancelling background noise, but the WS3 full headphones are so bloody hot, even at this time of year, they really make you sweat.
