GMP false signals in wet grass.

Post by ChrisWilson618 » Mon May 01, 2017 2:39 pm

Hello all.

I have just been out to try a [email protected] Tiger coil on my GMP but have run into a constant barrage of false signals. The grass is in places up to six inches long and wet. As soon as the coil touches any of the wet grass the GMP goes potty with false signals, and no matter how much I play about with the settings the damn thing will not shut up until I lift it off and away from the wet stuff.

Any ideas on how to rectify this problem?

Thanks.

If in doubt, BANG OUT.

Faulty coil. Wet grass should not cause a false signal unless the sensensativity is too high or the shield in the coil is not working properly

loose connection at control box end? if it's a second hand coil then there could be a broken wire in the piece which goes into control box. switch on detector, hold in the air and wiggle the cable as near to control box as possible ::g

The Tiger coil is known for been over sensitive maybe this has been addressed in the latest production run.
