What a brilliant choice for this month, well done Phil and thanks a million for all your friendly help to everyone, whether starting out or a seasoned veteran.
A real pity that your shift pattern fell the wrong way for the Forum dig, but I am sure there will be others, getting some land offers already ;)
By giving, we receive, as the saying goes. On the Forum Dig one day I mentioned to Loud Ed that we had a newbie to detecting just arrived and he then proceeded to spend some of his own detecting time, showing what to do, how to use the machine correctly and generally mentoring through the first hour or so, I was really pleased about that and I am sure you would have done the same as Ed.
The forum is what we make of it and we can be positive or negative. I have had several members PM me to say they really do appreciate your friendly help, so thanks again for that.

Thanks Liam.

I've learned so much since I joined the forum thanks to the many fantastic members here and as I see it my small contribution is merely me trying to emulate the example that I've been set. =D>

This internet community that's being nurtured here by all the staff is the best detecting database around as well as a great place to come & browse to restore one's faith in the hobby after a dismal trip or yet another permission knockback, long may it grow!! ::g ::g ::g ::g ::g

Great feature and the best bit for me is the emphasis on being positive in all that we do, whether getting permission, trusting your machine or setting out for a days detecting, being in the right frame of mind can unlock many problems and open doors, Liam ::g :;@

Hi Phil, I will be heading towards pasture in about three weeks when I get back to Norfolk and I note that as you don't like ploughed land due to knackered joints, so does that mean you are roaming around on pasture or beach? Hope all is well, your feature had me laughing more than once, too many common traits with myself! Liam ::g

It seems that many of the forum members here are of the same kidney Liam, those that I've had the good fortune to meet so far certainly are! (No names mentioned to protect the innocent) ::g ::g ::g ::g ::g

It's a long time since I detected on a beach.......too damn' far to travel to be honest & as I have a fair bit of productive land locally (and get the odd invite further afield) it's not something I'm likely to get seriously involved in. Deep ploughed land's a total no-no for me but i'll tough it out on most other terrain & all weather conditions in the never ending search for best quality lead scrap & buttons ;)
