Just to add to my above post (it was 01.30 am and i was tired)

I can understand the lack of Roman stuff in your area (You guys were tough back then!!!) but i would expect to find Hammered coinage.
Would be interesting to research the trade routes and types of trade you guys had with us after the Romans decided to go home.......

I think the problem with having a lot of permissions is deciding where to go, and even worse deciding how much time to spend there before you move on.....
Hammered coins can be illusive little things and they like nothing more than to see a detectorist walk within 6 inches of it and pass it by.....

Love the cars, but my go faster days are long gone and i like comfort, my voyager provides that and the grandkids love driving in Grandad Boo's bus.......
I can see me being a teenagers taxi service in a few years time....

Reference the "Glen" smileys
We did try and name one and caused huge problems for the forums and its search methods.....
You were very popular for a few hours when mrix was experimenting with that!!!! =))

Try and find out the age of the mill, that will help....
If it is old enough i will bet my new gaming pc that you will find hammered there if you know where to look....
Especially considering the perception of how canny the scots were/are with their cash....
Give me a bit of time and i will dig out my threads and research on these places....
Might resurrect an old thread for you....

Hi Glen, I went into a restaurant here in Wimbledon today and saw a lovely cake on show ... I immediately thought of your catering/baking skills and how you have used them to gain permission!
Hope you are getting out in this busy time of the year for you, Liam
