Ctx gaskets

Post by zenker » Thu Dec 28, 2017 10:45 pm

Hello.
Have a question about the gaskets.Got the old version of ctx with the "Red seal" gasket.
Have the chance to buy new improved battery and the "grey seal" for 30bucks.
My question is should i still change the grey seal and buy the aftermarket gasket from ebay ?
Or the grey one is same as the aftermarket gasket?

I think the newer version has the improved arm cup where the older ones like mine tend to slide up and down the mounting. U can get Crawford s to alter the older type ctx to fit the newer arm clip for I think £30 ish plus the cost of the new arm clip. ( I assume they route the plastic out but I'm not sure ) I put up with mine sliding up and down. With a protective cover it seems to slow it up a bit. A drop of mastic would prob sort it tooo.

I don't think the new battery fits the old type machine, I have the new type, and still got new gaskets for mine..

Dont have a single problem with the armcuff atm ,so thats all good and the old one can stay.
And about that new battery it will fit with the old machine to.

Question is to make machine more waterproof.
Should i stick with the original grey seal what is 2mm thick or buy the aftermarket one what is 2.5mm.

The video is about the old red gasket.
And i know, that i definitely need to change the red one(question is still if i need to change grey gasket to for 2.5mm or not) :D
Most videos what have made are for the red gasket.

And question about Usb port.
To u use any extra gasket there to ? Or just stock flat seal what is inside allready?

So I have been told that if you have the newer machine, you shouldn't need to change anything.

I have the newer machine and have still changed the grey gasket to 2.5mm and put a gasket around the USB port, and kept the flat rubber seal inside, I tested the thickness of thegasket with rubber seal so as to not have a gap with both in place, and from what I could make out the seal fits great.

I am heading to the beach next month, and if I can get my waders in time then I'll be going in, if I don't then the machine will not be submerged..

Good luck in your choice...
Warm regards

But why did u still went after the aftermarket seals? If the new seals should hold the water back ? :D
There as been news about the aftermarket seals are leaking to .So basically u aint safe with non of the seal.
The only safe thing is only cleaning, and if u clean it right u should be even safe with the old red gaskets?

both of the seals are thin... I don't see any harm in putting in thicker seals?

Please, if I'm wrong, tell me ::g
