Both of us use cs5mx's with success. Pinpointing is excellent. Good luck with your detecting. :)

Hi

The CS5MX was my first proper detector and I thought it was great, especially liked the dual discrim thing it had - although it would seem heavy now compared to my T2.
I bought the 5MX at least 15 years ago and it still works fine - I think the fact that CSCOPE still make them and have only changed them cosmetically since then would indicate how good they are viewed.

Hi there you will not go wrong with this machine I prefer it to my sovereign gt so that's how good it is for coinshooting it is awesome the key is to set the twin disc correctly my settings are disc one at 2 and disc two at 4-5 dig everything that gets through both don't bother with the boost and you can set disc1 lower if conditions allow but disc 2 at 4-5 you won't be disappointed great machine need any advice then just contact me I used one for nearly a decade and have been over the same sites with my new sov gt and found almost nothing so it's good

CS5MX is a proper tool for a bargain price - lightish well balanced swinger - fast recovery - brill dual discrim - very useful power and sensitivity - it was my first machine back after a very long layoff - for £150ish 2nd hand you probs wont find more bang for your buck... if I could fault mine it was the volume of the signals a tad quiet espesh the deeper ones - tried a fair few headphones and some were def better than others so a good set is a must... all in all a top amchine which will hold its on in the right hands.

Ermmm.... its 6 years old. ::g

That aside I did love my CS5MXP. It was my first machine sold to me by a work colleague. I used it for 2 years then sold it on at a profit as well! ::g

Used one myself for around a year, had a really good depth performance, simple to use etc.
I purchased mine secondhand for the same price around 10 years ago, I did however upgrade thinking the grass was greener but then realised I should of just stuck with it.
Best of luck
mrix
