Grey 2mx for first md

Post by Bob almond » Wed Feb 28, 2018 10:56 pm

Got it today from a dealer who sells pre owned MDS.
It is the c scope cs2mx mkii with the batteries behind the elbow rest.
Seems good in air test. 8" for a 10p and dual discrimination.
Came with original operating manual, circuit diagram and documented field report.
The mki I believe was first introduced in 1991 but don't have any info on when the mkii was introduced. Anybody know ????
Can't wait for the weather to improve and get detecting.
Got a caravan nr Dawlish Warren so lots of beaches close by.
Will see how I like the hobby and will get the grandkids to help me dig the beach.
If I feel the need to upgrade in the future, for what I paid for this I would give it to them to use themselves.

Great UK company are C-Scope, often bypassed by bigger names.
Manual here: https://www.csmetaldetectors.com/upload ... X_MkII.pdf
Give them a ring for advice, I`m sure one of the staff are on here as well.

Thanks for the link.
That is the report that I got with it.
Looking at the very bottom I see the mkii is post July 1992 so it is pretty old, but I knew they were the older style which is within my initial budget.
I preferred to buy an older recognised make rather than a cheaper newer generic model.
Regards
Bob

C-Scopes are very under rated machines. They may lack the bells & whistles of others but they find stuff. They also last very well with very rare faults so they are well built & retain their value.
My first machine was a CS5MXP and when I moved on to another machine I sold it for more than it cost me after 3 years use!!
As I often say its the nut on the handle that matters the most closely followed by the ground under the coil!
