C.Scope 9v Battery Sizes

Post by Tarot » Tue Apr 03, 2018 4:25 pm

Question for anyone using one of the newer models that requires a single 9v battery, which brand do you use & recommend. There seems to be a variation in the battery sizes and most brands seem slightly to large and make the battery door difficult to close. Perhaps that old saying is true "size does matter" 8-|

Hello 'Tarot' ::g That's disappointing to hear and could result in damage to the battery door fastening. It may be useful for those yet to reply, if you include the specific Cscope model you have in order for users to check their own and report findings. With regard to the 9v batteries, you may have missed a trick by not advising which ones you've already tried and found wanting.

I hope you get sorted in short order ::g (I can already visualise Cscope users dashing off to get their caliper micrometers to check)! Be Lucky. Regards ss47

I've found Duracell are bigger and bulge the battery door of my mates detector. We buy energised industrial in packs of 12 from cpc tools also avaible over internet at a good price as detector and pin pointer and usefull for smoke alarms too.I believe they are a slightly higher màh than the standard ones

Oversizing dimensions is a known problem re. batteries. I looked for a list of physical sizes but could not find... so I suppose trial and error or take some calipers to a shop and ask to measure... bonus points if you sue the manufacturers but I don't advise it, because at most you'll get a refund for one battery for the effort :D.

I had a problem with my carrot (garrett) and contacted Regtons who told me "best not use Duracell as they are marginally bigger"
Or remove the little foam bit and replace with smaller in the cap.

Thats the first I was aware of tiny size differences in 9V.
