External battery pack for PI or VLF

Post by LE.JAG » Fri Nov 28, 2014 4:41 pm

Hi all,

external battery for those who always want to be at full power
especially interesting for PI that consumes a lot
and allows increasing the voltage gain some depth

Warning : do not exceed more than 3 volts above the norm original
beyond we need to change some components ...

example:
TDI 14.4 volts, original, booster to 17/18 volts
win 3-5 cm on a gold ring ..... :D

the difference in performance will be more visible on PI
as the vlf - bbs........

I use a high capacity Lipo battery: 5000 mah
in 22.2 volts = 25 volts at full load

this system requires a voltage regulator
that lets the desired voltage
and allows to always be at full strength for at least 8 hours

http://www.ebay.fr/sch/i.html?_from=R40 ... R&_sacat=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

take regulator with a range of 12 to 18 volts
will be used on all types of detectors

if you use a VLF 12 volts, Lipo 11.1 v = 12/13 volts at full charge
will be enough, in this case need not control
just take a great capacity: 4000 at least

installation is simple, I took a sealed box-type otterbox
add an on / off with the controller consumes when plugged in

my battery is running on all my PI detectors and VLF
Goldscan, Goldquest, Manta, Nexus and soon Vista Gold
in a backpack or game bag hunting jacket ..

then add an outlet on the detector
and a cable with the two connection to the desired length of

any battery may agree
I took the Lipo, just cheaper ...
be used in modelisme and found everywhere

if you are interested in the installation, without being handyman
made to help you, a bad connection just burn your detector s;..

happy hunting

Thanks for posting this information it looks good and you have tried and tested it and it works well.

The only trouble is I am not a good handyman, when I look at it I find it too complicated for me. However, I am sure there will be others who will be able follow and make it work for them.

about anything,
it may seem complicated
but it is very simple, there 's only two son

the battery through the regulator and then the output jack
the small jack on the battery for charging in balance mode

and my pack there is a headphone jack for my proto
which is not needed on the other detectors

just do it ::g
