I sold my Satmap recently, with several maps. I used it for a number of years for fell walking in Wales and the Lakes and to be honest I couldn't fault it. Previously owned a couple of others and the SM was by far the best. Additional area maps are expensive if you want more detail.

I can no longer climb the hills and I don't use one for detecting at the moment, I know my fields well and I just add markers and grid refs for anything significant when I'm home. Just a personal view, but the SM is quite chunky and I don't like to carry much when detecting, so a touch of overkill for me.
