eTrex constantly gives 15 miles off

Post by ScotFree » Fri Oct 19, 2012 11:03 am

Hi,
My new (old) eTrex personal navigator™
consistently gives
off 15 miles to the SE 156°

when checked on http://gridreferencefinder.com/#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Whats wrong with my setup?

Cheers Dave

Hi Dave, just a general GPS thing, have a look, if you have the setting for enhanced GPS using the European satellite network, or something along them lines, if this is set on but your device doesn't support that it can throw the accuracy off ?

I am clutching at straws here, as I don't know the device, can you bring up details of what satellites it is using and how many ?

I am sure someone will be able to offer some better advice, but have a look

Cheers

I called Garmin Phone (freephone from UK landline): 0808 238 0000
http://www.garmin.com/uk/support/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and RESET
After the reset has completed you will need to leave it outside with a
clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite
data before use.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press the Page, Enter*, and Power buttons simultaneously.
3. Release on the buttons once the Do you really want to erase all user
data? message appears
4. Select Yes.
