Setting in a Etrex GPS

Post by Henrikras » Fri Oct 21, 2016 8:43 am

Hi guys.
What kind of coordinate setting do you use in UK?
Here in Denmark we use WGS84 UTM and the FLO here use ERTS89 (euref89) UTM.
Would like to know, because we are working at an APP to make it easy to them who like to take a "On site" picture at the location, to registre you own finds in your smartphone, field by field.
Thanks guys and girls.
Henrik

Hi Henrik
I use this
National Grid Reference (NGR)
I use GPS + GLONASS satellites
Map Datum “Ord Srvy GB”
Map Spheroid “Airy”
When marking a waypoint it gives a location reference such as “SU 99999 BNG 99999” (I’ve used random numbers) this is your Easting and Northing, a 10 figure location to 1 square metre.
SU is a designated square or a grid square (see below) BNG is “British National Grid”
