Minelab headphones ML85 or ML105??
Hi All, Hope you all had a good Christmas......The question is have you used the Minelab ML85 and ML105 headphones??.....I recently got a Nox 700 which came with the ML 85`s I have no complaints with them but are the ML105`s the one`s to have???.... I believe standard with the Manti and will work with the 700. Over to you guys. Many thanks.......

I'd say that the ML85 is functionally the same as the ML105.
ML105 allows a certain amount of wind noise to get in, which some people find annoying; the phones also seem less physically robust than the ML85.
Given that the ML85 is also cheaper, it's hard to see why anyone would want the 105 instead!

I prefer the ML85 headphones too, possibly because the sounds are the same as the Nox ones, which suited my hearing. They also score heavily by not having exposed wires like the ML105s, which are just waiting to catch on something and ruin your detecting session.

I would say probably not, however, a great pair of headphones....Junior wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 7:12 am Are the ml85 s any more water resilient?? Than the ml105s . Pity they didn't do a say shower proof head phones to start with like another brand,
I have both and i prefer the ml 105. I find them more comfortable

Been using them for 2 years with my nox and manticore in all weather
conditions without any problems.

I definitely think the mL105's sound better, and use them most of the time. They are a little bulky tho. ML85's I use when it is windy. Can't go wrong with either tho.KevinB wrote: Sun Dec 31, 2023 11:56 am Hi All, Hope you all had a good Christmas......The question is have you used the Minelab ML85 and ML105 headphones??.....I recently got a Nox 700 which came with the ML 85`s I have no complaints with them but are the ML105`s the one`s to have???.... The instruction manuals for both the ML85 and ML105 headphones state:
"Do not expose the headphones to liquid, moisture or humidity, as the headphones are not waterproof."
"The person who can enjoy the ordinary miserable days, is a happy fella."

I'm assuming both pairs are paired with the machine, do you have any problems when you change from one to the other?Colin.b wrote: Tue Mar 11, 2025 8:58 pm I definitely think the mL105's sound better, and use them most of the time. I've only got the 105s and I've only ever had problems once when starting a day's detecting, since then I have a very strict sequence which always works. I switch on my machine, press the wireless button to get the flashing logo on the machine then long press the button on the headphones. I do fancy the 85s but I'm worried I would have to re-pair everytime I switch headsets.

Once you are paired a short press on the on switch on the control panel and the headphones (in any order) should automatically connect them within about three seconds. If you press either button too long you will have to re-pair them from scratch.LuckyB wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 11:17 am I'm assuming you both pairs paired with the machine, do you have any problems when you change from one to the other?
