Where to store a detector

Post by 3inchesbeep » Sat Apr 16, 2016 2:43 pm

I know this forum is really for coin storage but I wasn't sure if this belonged here or in tips.

Anyway. Where do you guys store your detectors? They are kind of an odd shape and its annoying keep dismantling it every time to put it back in the box.

I don't really have space anyway in my house that's not going to be in the way and I am a bit worried about putting it in the shed because of damp.

I just wondered where other people keep theirs.

One in boot of car, waterproof one in garage and others go under a bed.

Keep mine in the wardrobe, ready assembled. Would agree with the shed being unsuitable due to the damp. Also could not be doing with having to re-assemble every time you want to use it.
Cheers and Good Luck ::g

if you have a sofa that backs onto a wall it could hide there . otherwise if there is chance of damp wherever you choose you could consider putting a few silicone packets inside control box .
mine are in conservatory where temp/humidity is up and down like a yo-yo.
Which reminds me ,not done the sorex yet .

I own four detectors at the moment.

I keep them in my man cave (detecting room) upstairs - along with all my finds, books,
magazines, research material, old bottles, computer etc.

Most nights I disappear for a couple of hours whilst my good wife watches her soaps

THANK GOD FOR METAL DETECTING !!!!!!

Only ever agree to keeping them in the shed if she keeps some of her crap in there as well!

All my detectors are in my dedicated detecting man cave, have all 18 of them setup on one side of the room and all my coils which i wont mention how many i have down the other side, wont keep any of them in the car, garage or shed as not only does the damp could cause problems but also alot of light fingered folks around who could take a fancy to them.

Sheds and garages are easily broken into,so much prefer to keep them all safe and secure ::g
