Small Display Frame For Farmer

Post by lemanlures » Mon May 16, 2016 11:18 am

After 3 years of wondering about on my Farmers land after him giving me permission I thought it was about time to give him something in return. After many attempts, trying 3 different frames and numerous different mounting techniques, I was finally happy with the result!

The final trick that held them in place, without using glue, was using a piece of foam backed sand paper upside down, cut to the size of the passpartout and covered in felt, this then pushed through the passpartout enough to hold the coins against the glass.

All the finds were made in Switzerland but represent a mix of French, Italian and Swiss coins.

The frame is much smaller than some of the English ones I have seen, but then again so are the fields here!!

I put the following label on the back because it didn't look pretty on the front!

Piece Cantonal Genève, 16?? – Jeton en cuivre 1803 – 1 Denier, Genève, 1723

10 Centimes Fédéral Suisse, 1850 – 10 Centesimi, Italie, 1852 – 1 franc Napoléon, France, 1867

Boucle en bronze 1700 – 1800’s – Bon pour 50 Centièmes, France, 1927 – Boucle en bronze 1700 – 1800’s
