Couple of magazines in the bottom of the box works well to pad it out ::g
True mate but an extra 'tray' will solve the 'loose' problem whilst also making provision for your 2018 hoard of Solidi :D All the best. Regards ss47

They are special "While stocks last" offers. Lidl's do different ones each week.
As these are such good value they normally sell out, but any unsold are just moved down the aisle when the next weeks offers come in. So you need to check in your local stores but I know that these coin cases were highlighted on a few metal detecting Facebook sites so suspect you might be unlucky.

FYI: They have had them in a few times before Christmas so if you can not get one keep your eyes open next December.

For those who bought the Lidl coin case as I did I found that my small thin hammered coins were not staying put in the 7 x 11 tray so I ordered these coin capsules which fit perfectly snug. Dimensions inner 20mm, outer 23.7mm, height 4.9mm. You can't go wrong at 100 for £4.10 delivered. Now I just need to find enough hammies and Romans etc to fill them. :D

Good luck on your hunt anyways.

Superb value Dave. I don't live near a branch, but I have someone trying to pick a couple up for me this eve, so fingers crossed! It just shows how overpriced the brand names are - Lindner for example.

Morning all....a VERY wet one !
Picked one up in Letchworth Lidl last night for £12.99, looks like decent quality.
It comes with. 3 year warranty which is good....obviously the hinges on mine will be extensively tested as I continually open it to add the stators, hammies & skeats =))

I bought 2 x Lidl coin cases yesterday and still great value.

I have noticed that there are 5 trays inside

I will have to buy plastic inserts at these sizes

1 x tray holding plastic inserts 22mm outside measurement

2 x trays holding plastic inserts 32mm outside measurement

2 x trays holding plastic inserts 44mm outside measurement

These are different sizes that were mentioned on this stream before.

I don't live anywhere near a LIDL, but I asked two friends to try to pick up one for me: both places had sold out immediately! I have seen one that a friend has and they do look like unbelievable value. The case for my Lindner boxes cost £90 (inc p&p), so if anyone has an extra one for sale let me know please.

Brad, I will be looking today so can pick one up but I can't make the meeting on Monday as I will be in Manchester. I can keep it until the next meeting or we can meet up somewhere.

One thing with these cases, you will need to put a packing piece of cardboard under the trays as the lid doesn't meet the tray so when you lift it by the handle the coins can fall out of the trays. A couple of searchers or Treasure hunting will do the trick.
