Considering a Nexus Credo DDM

Post by KeithM » Tue Nov 10, 2015 10:57 pm

Ok, all
Pros and cons for the Nexus Credo DDM, please. Have been considering a Minelab explorer or an At Pro, but the Credo looks interesting. Currently swinging an Omega 8000 with a Cscope 6MXi as backup. The Omega would be for the chop! All comments welcome

In my opinion the Credo DDM is the best value for money detector Nexus produce.

On 'normal' ground with the standard 10 "DD coil it will go as deep as the MP with the same size coil.
However, the MP will outperform it in heavily mineralised ground.

Correct ground balancing is required for maximum performance and accurate discrimination. I fitted a larger control and an O ring on mine which made it easier for me. When out in the field you will need to check the GB every now and again by raising and lowering the coil to see if there is any change in the threshold.

It is a mistake to have the sensitivity up further than 09:00 hrs, keep it down until you have thoroughly mastered the detector because having it higher will only make things more difficult for you. Initially have the discrimination level at 10:00 hrs until you have got used to the LED and audio.

Probably more than most, you will have to spend time in the field to fully understand what it is telling you. Once you understand this machine and talk its language you will be rewarded well.
