Nexus Bonanza first impressions.

Post by Mayprop » Mon Dec 21, 2015 3:48 pm

Done a few hours with the Bonanza, and these are my initial thoughts.
It's a fine machine, nice and stable, and is as good a machine that I have ever owned, it suits my ears, and it's very easy to ignore the iron, the only iron I dug was when I used it for the first time and it came across as an iffy signal 30mm x 30mm with a hole in the middle, other than that, no iron now I have it set up properly, not that it takes much setting up as it's the base model in the range.
Not tried it on wet sand yet, but will post when I can, it really is a great entry level detector, it won't suit everyone as it's non motion, but responds just like a motion machine, no Sooty & Sweep sounds.
I will try it out on the beach soon and pass on my findings, but for now it's a keeper ::g

Hi Bob
Volume to suit, discrim mode, not auto, discrim set to between 10 and 11 oclock, sensitivity about 8
This seems to work on my land.

Must admit it does sound like a very capable machine, not used a Bonanza but most suprised the take up of this machine is very slow, from the reviews that i have read its pretty deep as well.
The difference between perception and reality can be vast indeed.

Have you managed to try it on the beach yet? Interested to know how you found it.
