Dont purchase the Nexus MP if you.....

Post by Filternozzle » Tue Nov 07, 2017 10:44 pm

I would advise against purchasing the Nexus MP if you:

are a beginner.
know nothing about manual ground balancing.
are not used to manual rotary controls.
prefer digital read out information.
dont like digging deep holes.
are not prepared to study User Instruction Manual & instruction Videos provided by Nexus.

The Nexus MP is a very powerful machine and will find targets at extreme depth..... but if it isnt set up correctly you could well suffer loss of depth and inaccurate discrimination.

If you want a switch on and go detector, keep clear of the Nexus.

If you are prepared to put in the necessary to learn how to get the best from it, the Nexus is one hell of a detector. However, it is not for the faint hearted...

Good advice FN, best to start with a simpler machine rather than buy one of these and be unable to handle it.

Sounds like just the machine for me having spent most of my 28 years detecting life with knobs and no readout. I switched to an E-trac last year and find trying to make changes in the field a nightmare, eyesight not as it was and glare making the readout difficult to read I yearn for a good old rotary control :))

Sounds like just my kind of machine too. Can't be doing with readouts etc either. Started detecting in 76 and never had a machine with one yet. I like proper controls not digital stuff. My Tesoros were all manual GB and I came to really like it and the control it gave me.
You have to put in the work but once you do it feels like you are setting up the machine not the other way round.
I knew a chap who had a Nexus a few years ago. I have several areas of my permissions where I really would like to explore with a deep machine. What have you found with it?
GMP, Tesoro Invincible, wellies.
