I've just ordered the CS6MXi :)

Post by BritishBeef » Fri Aug 29, 2014 12:08 pm

I've just ordered the CS6MXi. I have been using my trusty CS3MX for the last few years and it was time for an upgrade. I loved my CS3MX and it has found the goodies no problem despite all the detector snobbery and the jokes at my expense for having one.

I'm sticking to C-Scope because I have been blown away by their customer service and although I'm a gadget freak and thought that I would want all bells and whistles and a nice display on my detector, having borrowed a couple detectors with displays and a multitude of settings I found that I was so used to just using my ears that a display just slowed things down for me.

The CS6MXi seems to be highly rated by owners and reviews so I'm sure it will be great. I can't wait - it will here on Monday :D \:D/

Anything I should be careful of or any recommended settings?

you cant go wrong with 6mxi

once you get use to it, no more digging iron,
super fast recovery speed and well capable of
weeding out those tiny targets

good luck with your choice of machine
you wont regret it
better a ping over a button than a fart over iron

I agree with Weeder - i love my 6MXi too.

It can pick non ferrous finds out with ease from heavily iron infested land.
My finds rate has definately increased since using one !!!!

Lightweight, very easy to use, good value for money & excellent after sales service from
C Scope.

Own a 3MX too - would never part with it - my son often uses it & always finds
plenty with it.

You will love it!!!!

It is really good at finding small silvers.
With experience you can hear iron easily and also can discriminate siver foil and coke.
For me I agree, you dont need a display, best to use your ears.

There is some debate about the best settings to use.
Most are in agreement that you dont really need to manual ground balance, just use tracking.
Also that it is pretty stable, I always run my sensitivity at 10, only ocassionaly turning it down to 8 on the worst sites. Fast recovery so I have dug loads of hammies right next to iron.
I like to hear the iron so have iron volume at 4, some ther run it all way up to 8.

I have a low khz detector also that is better for large deep high conductive relics, but if its silver coins you want and small stuff in the first six inches you bought a great detector.

I dont use the pinpoint, so find it better balanced to move the control box to the back of the stem, or else mount it on your belt.

Good luck!!!

BTW, bought it from Regton. It arrived with the control by not supported in the box so it had been rattling around. Also one of the Velcro cable ties was loose in the box but made up (ie. in a loop). Makes me nervous that it was a display model or something. It's definitely never been out in the field and it ask looks new though.

Do they normally come with batteries supplied? Mine didn't.

Good luck with your new detector, keep us posted on your thoughts and finds about it. I have a 3mx and it's great, so i'm looking at upgrading to the cs6mxi. to help out on iron elimination. Their help desk is very good and after sales brilliant. i wouldn't worry about what others say, you rarely see topics asking why a C SCOPE doesn't work ;) . Enjoy it =P~

My 6mxi paid for itself and paid for my deus within six months of buying it,and I still prefer it and use
more than my more expensive machine.I love it and if I new then what I know now I would have saved myself a bag of money and bought another c scope as back up.
