Our Moderator Oxgirl36 has created a really useful Help Guide B-) , the link is located at the top of the forum by the Rallies and Clubs link, a direct link here MDF Guide
I can only imagine it must of taken a fair amount of time and effort to achieve so a huge thanks goes out to Oxgirl36 ::g Its certainly a guide which will be of use to countless members old and new over countless years to come ::g

A cracking item by Oxgirl36, who obviously put a lot of both time and effort in to it.

Could I suggest adding a bit along the lines of "Most questions have been asked previously, try using the search option to see if yours has; it is also great for finding that post you saw ages ago and now need".

A great deal of work has been done by all 3 of the new mods, there are new guides springing up on all forums, replacing the streams of stickies us old mods had in place.
Has been a roller coaster of events and a flurry of activity
Hopefully this makes it easier to navigate the forums

Especially Mrs Slocombe and the ongoing joke about her "pet cat" probably couldn't get away with that these days rl;

Lots of work there, cheers Oxgirl ::g

A great amount of work has gone on behind the scenes I'm sure, thumbs up to all involved %&*=

Hopefully new members will bother to read the advice, take the effort to do so and follow it with the respect it deserves to reflect the time spent compiling it by the very admin that will rightly rap their knuckles should they choose not to.

To be honest its not a lot to ask of a new member to follow forum rules and etiquette, if they choose to ignore.............then to reply will be ignored in return

Regards Steve

Cracking guide, OG ::g

Now, will you please put that whip down and let us get some kip?

Seriously, that took an awesome (and I use that term in its proper sense - not as a slavish US-derived filler) amount of work and the result is clear to see.
Essential equipment:
Some sort of electrical gubbins(I'm told it's a Deus). In various colours

I've never had free access to such a valuable resource as this forum, it enhances the enjoyment of the hobby immeasurably, nothing worse than finding something and not knowing what you've got.

I have to say I never quite got just how much interesting and valuable information is held on this forum. Google any of the common, or uncommon, metal detecting finds and you’ll usually find this forum will be in the top few results and be guaranteed to be on the first page.

Why? Because it’s a forum with an incredible range of great people who are experts or amateur enthusiasts willing to put in the time to research things for other people. But what I hadn’t realised, till the last few weeks, is how much work goes into putting things in the right place so they can be found again. It’s a brilliant research resource and I hope this guide (which all the mods contributed to) helps you to continue to do that. It links to the wonderful topics already on here, but which are sometimes hard to find.

Did you know this forum will be 10 years old in September? That’s one heck of a lot of work by Mrix, whose baby it is, plus Blackadder and then Liam and Dave, to get it here. It’s one of the worlds largest metal detecting forums ::g And you’re part of it OooO

Well done OG.36. Very clear and laid out information for all. I especially like the last line don't forget to say thank you. I joined this forum over 5 year ago while off work on long term sick leave
I could not get out for a few months and the forum gave me a real boost. Now with over 3000 posts and making some friends along the way it's amazing to me how the place we all meet up has grown.

Amazing work Oxgirl, I must admit everything seems so daunting at first and forums can be a bit daunting at first. This brings everything together nicely in one place, giving vital information and forum etiquette, everyone's a winner.
Loving your work..
