Can i Just ask this one favour?

Post by Blackadder43 » Sun Jan 01, 2017 2:49 pm

Ok, its a new year, new beginnings, new permissions, new finds, new friendships and new threads on the forum.
2016 was a good year for the forum, Loads of great finds, some lightning speed ID's, some great tips and ideas, fair machine advice, i could go on but you get the picture.....

But there was one thing that stood out and that is people being nasty on others threads, people asking loaded questions to get a reaction, people loading the gun but letting others pull the trigger, people slating the way people write or act.

Look around the news sites and forums of the world and Ask yourselves this: Don't you think there is enough division in the world without people who have a common interest adding to it?
We are only a forum for a hobby, but some of the jealousy, nastiness and retaliations on threads has been sad to see.

I'm not going to single anyone out in this, but if you dont like the person who has just posted a thread then ignore it, move on, don't open it and cause yourself issues.
If someone is aggressive towards you on a thread then PM one of the mods, any one of us it doesnt matter. We all sing from the same page and will remove people from the forums without hesitation.

Lets all try to get along and not fall into the theme that seems to be spreading the world over, hatred and division.

I'm off to hug a tree.
You can reply to this thread but keep in mind that posts on the Admin channel needs to be approved by the Mods, don't be the first to be looking for a new home in 2017.

Well said Bruce, I have been on the receiving end myself from the grammar police and there is no need for it.

I like to think a forum is a civilised gentlemen's club, compared to the smash and grab thug mentality seen on many Facebook sites.
Personally I think the hobby has taken a turn for the worse over recent years, it does not have the Comradery it used to have.

Well said Bruce.

As you say, and I've said this too, there's enough negativity, horror and bad news going on in the world without creating more closer to home.

Can I just ask one thing? ..... that the smiley limit can be increased as I feel really guilty that I've got to remove smiley's when replying to some posts :D

All the best for the New Year!

Paul

Very well said mate.
I come on this forum
1) to see the great finds that people make,
2) to ask for help ,
3) to listen to ,and read-other people's views ,on a myriad of topics ,
4) and if someone ever needed my help or advice in any way, shape or form I would happily give it .

So admin keep erm peeled , as the late shaw Taylor , used to say

Happy new year!! Great time to make this point. I hope we are all joining you in hugging trees this year. With a new US president, potentially new French and German presidents and a few mad country leaders going nowhere we certainly don't need to fuel anymore potential wars.

Happy hunting this year everyone.

In my view, posts which are intentionally offensive or bear general 'nastiness' toward others, are usually borne out of jealousy/ignorance or both. Life is too short!.

Thankfully, the majority of posts that I've seen over the last 5 years, have been informative, interesting and helpful in their entireity....... which is exactly what this forum is known for ss47
