Post by Frenchieboy » Thu Jul 05, 2018 9:19 am

I have a fisher 1235X which has a standard coil fitted to it. In order to improve the performance of the machine and my detecting pleasure what (Larger) coil would be compatible and best to fit on to this machine please, Also are they readily available pre-owned and what price might I pay for one.

Many thanks for looking guys! ::g

They came with two types of connector. A few of the older one has 4 pins. Good luck in finding any of those. Most have 5 pins and are the same as the rest of the Fisher -X series except the 1260x which is different. Be very careful with eBay definitions I have seen second hand coil listed as fitting both the 1266x and 1260x which is not the case. The plugs are different and even if you change the plug it will not work as they are completely different.

I use an almost identical machine. The 1265x with an 8" coil. I had never felt the need to go any larger. I don't feel the need to change. It is brilliant in these dry condition however does struggle on waterlogged fields.
