Post by oyfire45 » Sat Apr 07, 2018 3:11 pm

Hi, All new here. I'm from the states just got a new Q20. Question is on manual gb is said pinpointer and arrow up or down. Did that but if I push gb button and up or down arrow gives me a different set of numbers. Is one mgb and one thesh hold? Thanks

Not had this problem On the Q40, all I normally do is hold the GB button down and pump the detector up and down for 15-20 seconds, normally the number in the top left and the centre of the screen match up in the late 40's or 50's on my fields, I repeat this a few times during the session.
Not sure if this is any use to you??

Whereabouts in the States??I

A few people have reported problems ground balancing in some ground.

Lower the sensitivity, ground balance, then turn the sensitivity back up has been the cure.

I dont believe in the newer Q20 and Q40 that holding pinpointer down and using the arrows changes ground balance, I 'think' it changes pinpointer sensitivity. For manual ground balance you have an actual setting in the menus, highlight G.C and use up and down arrows to adjust.
