Quest Q40 needing a hammer and chisel.

Post by cussler » Fri Jun 22, 2018 8:03 pm

Hi Grott and I went to one of our new permissions around Hull where the fodder/hay had been cut for winter feed I took the Quest Q40 to see what it was like on stubble ,put the small coil on ,boy it was like concrete to dig ,Hull is mostly heavy clay soil, its a mud bath in winter then it bakes solid in summer (not a lot of rain near the east coast in summer) .We had a fair few hours there ,lots of fields to go at, seems that finds were mostly late Victorian to modern day ,its not somewhere you can go later on in the year when it rains because the grass just grows to long to get your coil down The Quest did very well had it in jewellery mood , sensitivity at 86 well pleased with it.

Well done. ::g In places our fields today still had a fair amount of moisture under the surface but unfortunately very little in the way of decent finds. :D

I haven't been out for three weeks, my longest lay off. Bone dry and rock hard in my area. Nice to see the Q40 pulling out the history.

That’s an impressive haul, especially taking the ground conditions into account.
Well dug and done.

Considering that the condition of the earth was so dry and the conductivity was perhaps lower than one would hope for, you did quite well! ::g
Garrett ProPointer + MineLab Safari + Quest Q40, and loads of determination.
